"BYFORD, a parish in the hundred of GRIMSWORTH, county of HEREFORD, 7 miles (W. N. W.) from Hereford, containing 211 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Hereford, rated in the king's books at £7. 1. 8., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist."
