"WHITBOURNE, a parish in the hundred of BROXASH, county of HEREFORD, 6 miles (E. by N.) from Bromyard, containing 821 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Hereford, rated in the king's books at £14. 14. 95., and in the patronage of the Bishop of Hereford. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
