"WESTCLIFFE, a parish in the hundred of Bewsborough, lathe of St. Augustine, in the county of Kent, 2 miles N.E. of Dover. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Canterbury, value £34, in the patronage of the dean and chapter. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, is a small structure. The manor once belonged to the ancestors of Gibbon, the historian."
