"WORMSHILL, a parish in the hundred of Eyhorne, lathe of Aylesford, county Kent, 5 miles S.W. of Sittingbourne, 9 from Maidstone, and 3 N.E. of Hollingbourn. The village is situated on a plateau 530 feet above the sea, and intersected with valleys. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury, value £260, in the patronage of Christ Hospital, London. The church is dedicated to St. Giles. The register dates from 1700. The charities produce about £6 per annum. There is a school with a small endowment."
