  • This place had been an extra-parochial area until about 1880, when it was formed as a Civil Parish.
     
  • On 26 March, 1892, this parish was expanded by adding rural parts of Belgrave parish and Leicester Abbey.
     
  • On 1 April, 1935, this parish was abolished and parts added to Anstey parish, Thurcaston parish and Leicester parish.
