"ASHTON, a parish in the hundred of Cleley, in the county of Northampton, 6 miles to the S. of Northampton. Roade is its post town. The London and North-Western railway passes through the parish. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, value £275, in the patronage of the lord chancellor. The church, which contains two altar tombs and a monument of a knight, is dedicated to St. Michael The parochial charities amount to £20.
