"BAINTON, a parish in the liberty of Nassaburgh, in the county of Northampton, 5 miles to the E. of Stamford. Wandsford is its post town. It lies at the northern extremity of the county, on the borders of Lincolnshire. The living is a curacy, attached to the rectory of Ufford, in the diocese of Peterborough. The church is dedicated to St. Mary, and is in the early English style. The charitable endowments amount to £51 per annum."
