"DENFORD, a parish in the hundred of Huxloe, in the county of Northampton, 1 mile S. of Thrapstone. It is situated on the river Nen. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough, value with the vicarage of Ringstead, £320, in the patronage of the Rev. A. J. Sandilands. The church, dedicated to the Holy Trinity, is an old stone edifice in the early English style, with a tower and spire. The tithes were commuted for land under an Enclosure Act in 1765.
