"KELMARSH, a parish in the hundred of Rothwell, county Northampton, 12 miles N. of Northampton its post town, 5 S. of Market Harborough, and 78 from London. It is a station on the Blisworth and Market Harborough branch of the London and North-Western railway. The Pytchley hounds meet here. The parish is traversed by the road from Northampton to Harborough. The surface is partly undulating and the land chiefly pasture. The tithes have been commuted for a rent-charge of £671 10s. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, value £640. The church, dedicated to St. Luke, has a spire. There is a National school, recently erected by Lord Bateman.
