"SLAPTON, a parish in the hundred of Greens-Norton, county Northampton, 4 miles S.W. of Towcester, its post town. The village, which is of small extent, is situated on the small river Tove, and is wholly agricultural. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough. The church, dedicated to St. Botolph, has a tower and two bells. The parochial charities produce about £1 per annum. The Wesleyans have a place of worship."
