"STRETTON-BASKERVILLE, a parish in the Kirby division of Knightlow hundred, county Warwick, 3 miles S.E. of Nuneaton, and 5 from Rugby. It is a station on the London and North-Western railway. The village is on Watling Street and the Ashby-de-la-Zouch canal. The living is a sinecure rectory in the diocese of Worcester. The church is in ruins. There is a National school."
