"KILLINEEN, (or Killeeneen or Killineen), a parish in the barony of Dunkellin, county Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 3 miles S.W. of Athenry. Kilcolgan is its post town. It is 4 miles long by 3 broad. The surface is of a rocky nature, but has a fair proportion of arable soil. The parish is crossed by the road from Dublin to Galway. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Kilmacduagh, value with Kilcolgan, £275, in the patronage of the bishop There is a day school.
