"KILCONLY, a parish in the barony of Iraghticonnor, county Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland. Ballybunian is its post town. The parish is situated at the mouth of the Shannon, facing Carrigaholt Bay. The living is a prebend in the diocese of Ardfert and Aghadoe, value £68, in the patronage of the bishop. There are three day schools. Beale Castle, Devil's Castle, and Leek Castle, formerly stood on the coast."
