"LLANVIHANGEL-NEAR-ROGGIETT, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of Caldicott, county Monmouth, 6 miles S.W. of Chepstow, its post town. It is situated near the mouth of the river Severn. The living is a rectory annexed to that of Roggiett, in the diocese of Llandaff, value £95. The church is dedicated to St. Michael."
