St Columba, Killynaher, Drumlane, Church of Ireland

In 1868, the parish of Drumlane contained the following places:

"DRUMLANE, a parish in the barony of Lower Loughtee, in the county of Cavan, province of Ulster, Ireland, 1 mile S.W. of Belturbet, its post town. It is situated to the S. of Lower Lough Erne. The surface, which is intersected by numerous loughs, is very marshy. The living is a rectory and vicarage in the diocese of Kilmore, value £345, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was built by means of a loan from the late Board of First Fruits in 1819. There are two Roman Catholic chapels, a Methodist meeting-house, six National and several other schools. The seats are Ashgrove, Ballyhugh, Nixon Lodge, Kilcar, Turclodge, Kilwilly, Carrighill, and Ardue. A monastery existed here, founded in the 6th century by St. Edan; within its burial-ground the Breffny chiefs were interred. Here are remains of a round tower.
