The present parish of Moybolgue or Balieborough is a combination of two parishes Killan being formerly separate. The Church of Moybolgue, in Td. Relagh Beg, was an important site, beside which the Normans built a well-preserved mote. It is at the top of a hill, within a circular graveyard. The Baronial Map shews the church unroofed, and a round tower beside it.

The graveyard contains some interesting stones... An elaborate slab shews a recumbent priest; above his right shoulder is a winged head, above the left an open book with the words " Liber . . . ." The border is inscribed in remembrance of the pastor of Moybolgue and Kilmainham Wood who died 2/11/1721.
