- Prior's Heys (formerly Pryor's Hayes) was an extra-parochial place in Eddisbury hundred (SJ 5166), which became a civil parish in 1858.
- The population was 21 in 1851, 22 in 1901, 15 in 1951, and 10 in 2001.
- The civil parish was abolished in 2015 and incorporated into Tarvin.
