- Shocklach Oviatt was a township in Shocklach ancient parish, Broxton hundred (SJ 4348), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- It includes the hamlets of Lane End (part), Little Green and Shocklach Green.
- The population was 145 in 1801, 168 in 1851, 167 in 1901, 125 in 1951, and 78 in 2001.
- In 2015 the civil parish was abolished and incorporated into Shocklach & District.
