- Stockton was a township in Malpas ancient parish, Broxton hundred (SJ 4745), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- It included the hamlet of Oldcastle Heath.
- The population was 23 in 1801, 31 in 1851, 28 in 1901, 12 in 1951, and 21 in 2001.
- In 2015 the civil parish was abolished and incorporated into Malpas.
