"TIVERTON, a township in that part of the parish of BUNBURY which is in the first division, of the hundred of EDDISBURY, county palatine of CHESTER,1¾ mile (S.) from Tarporley, containing 591 inhabitants There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. At Four-lane Ends, in this township, is an old established corn market, held every Monday, The Chester canal passes in the vicinity." - Tiverton was a township in Bunbury ancient parish, Eddisbury hundred (SJ 5460), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- It included the hamlets of Beeston Brook (part), Brassey Green, Four Lane Ends, Hand Green and Town Fields.
- The population was 377 in 1801, 747 in 1851, 525 in 1901, 489 in 1951, and 406 in 2001.
- In 2015 the civil parish was abolished and incorporated into Tiverton & Tilstone Fearnall and Tarporley.
