The lavishly illustrated Paper was presented at the Association’s July 1897 Kingsbridge meeting. It is for the genealogist, a cornucopia of names and places associated with the earliest research into our county’s unique history. This committee was initially formed by members of the Association’s Barrow Committee and continued annually until its 11th Report in 1906. It has sometimes been confused with the Dartmoor Preservation Association, (founded 1883). Work undertaken by committee members since the preceding report included examinations and excavations at:
1  Stall Moor.
2. Langstone Moor, Petertavy Common.
3. White Moor, near Cosdon.
4. Blackslade Down.
5. Smallacombe Rocks.
6. Halshanger Common.
7. Chagford Common.

The Paper, from a copy of a rare journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. Those on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
