In the name of god amen. The xxvijth day of Septemb[e]r in the yere of our Lord god a thousande fyve hundred twenty and six I John Bodley of the p[ar]ishe of saint Stevyn of Excetor w[i] t[h]in  the dioc[e]s[e] of Excetour lawded be god hole of mynde and of p[er]f[e]cte remembrannce make my testament and last will in maner and fourme folowing First I geve and beque[a]th my soule to almighty god to his blissed mother saint mary and to all the saints in hevyn my body to be buried in holy grave where it shall please god shal rest And as for all my goodes and debts to me owing whersoever they be I geve and beque[a]th it to my Wife Alison Whom I ordeyn[e] and make my sole executrix desiring her to be loving to my soule Thus winesse maister Will[ia]m Appulby Clerk and Curat of saint Thomas church[e] in Sa[int?] s[tevy?]n Robert Constable my goostly father and John holway myn hoste w[i]t [h] others
