GOODLEIGH, a parish in the hundred of Braunton, county of DEVON, 2¾ miles (E. by N.) from Barnstaple, containing 351 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Barnstaple, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £14. 19. 4½., and in the patronage of the Rev. W. Churchward. The church is dedicated to St. Gregory. Here is a place of worship for Independents. The river Yeo runs through the parish, which is noted for the production of cherries.
