Indenture between Judith Peake and Richard Allyn, 1690

This Indenture made the two and twentieth day of July in the second year of the reigns of our Sovereign Lord and Lady William and Mary by the Grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King and Queen defenders of the faith BETWEEN Judith PEAKE of Plymouth widow one of the daughters of John ALLYN late of Plymouth afsd merchant her father decd of the one part and Richard ALLYN of Plymouth merchant of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Judith PEAKE as well for and in consideration of fifty and six pounds of lawful money of England to her in hand paid by the said Richard ALLYN ............ HATH given granted bargained sold released and confirmed in and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien release and confirm unto the said Richard ALLYN his heirs and assigns for ever by virtue of a Lease of Bargain and Sale bearing the date ......... from the tenth day of April last past .... to take this present release and Conveyance thereof to him his heirs and assigns for ever ......... ALL that one full third of all the messuage tenement garden grounds lying and being in Hollocombe in the co of Devon heretofore in the tenure of Johane ALLYN of Plymouth afsd widow mother of the said Richard ALLYN and grandmother of the said Judith PEAKE her tenant or tenants now in the possession of Robert PEARSE his heirs and assigns together with one full third part of all houses edifices buildings barns .......... and all issues profits ........... TO HAVE AND TO HOLD all that one full third part of the afsd messuage etc .... unto the said Richard ALLYN his heirs and assigns for ever ............. anno domini 1690 signed and sealed Judith Peake.

[On the outside of the Indenture] 'Sealed and delivered in the p'sence of Hen Watts; Jewell Sparke: Nicholas Sower [or Lower]' and 'Mrs Peakes conveyance to her uncle[?] Of one third part of Hollocombe, No 5, 22 July 1690.'
