R.N. Worth

Prepared by Michael Steer

This Paper was presented at the Association’s August 1883, Exmouth meeting. In it the author identifies and describes and Complex stratigraphy in and around Plymouth. Richard Nicholls Worth was twice president of the Plymouth Association, and in 1891 of the Devonshire Association. A potted biography is available here. For the genealogist, his Paper is an invaluable source of names and places associated with the earliest research into our county’s unique geological history. The Paper, from a copy of a rare journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
