BROCKTHROP, (or Brookthrop), a parish in the middle division of the hundred of Dudstone, in the county of Gloucester, 4 miles to the S. of Gloucester. It lies at the West foot of the Cotswold hills. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol, of the value With the perpetual curacy of Whaddon annexed, of £180, in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Gloucester and J. Pitt, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Swithin.
