The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

"ASHE, a parish in the hundred of Overton, Kingsclere division of the county of Southampton, 5 miles to the E. of Whitchurch, its post town. The South Western railway runs near it. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Winchester, value £410, in the patronage of W. H. Beach, Esq. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The principal residences are Ashe Park and Oakley Hall; at the former of which the Vine hounds meet."
