"HOPE-under-DINMORE, a parish in the hundred of WOLPHY, county of HEREFORD, 4 miles (S. by E.) from Leominster, containing 528 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Hereford, endowed with £400 private benefaction, and £ 1200 royal bounty, and in -the patronage of the Bishop of Hereford. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, contains the remains of several members of the Coningsby family, one of whom, Sir Thomas, founded Coningsby's hospital, in Hereford.
