"WOOLHOPE, a parish in the hundred of GREYTREE, county of HEREFORD, 7 miles (W. byS.) from Ledbury, containing, with the townships of Buckenhill and Putley, 825 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, annexed to that of Fownhope, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Consistorial Court of the Dean of Hereford, rated in the king's books at £7. 12. 8½., endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty.
