"CAPEL, (or Caple), a parish in the hundred of Washlingstone, lathe of Aylesford, in the county of Kent, 3 miles to the S.E. of Tonbridge. The living is a vicarage united with that of Tudeley, in the diocese of Canterbury. The church is dedicated to St. Thomas-a-Becket."
