It was founded in 1929. New church 1938. New church 1958.
The Friars Minor Conventual began a new parish here in 1928. So far they have been able to build schools and a chapel, but have not yet achieved their ambition to build a Franciscan monastery. The parish has known a history of very rapid housing development, and is still in the full vigour of youth. The Fathers who did most to guide the parish in its early stages were Fr. Daniel and Fr.
