By the 19th century, mission services were held in a small room at Marsden Height. In 1837 Providence Chapel was built on Halifax Road, Brierfield near Four Lane Ends.
This closed in 1892 with a new chapel built on Colne Road. This was demolished in 1991 and rebuilt on the same site in part of the new Community Centre, Brierfield. It closed in 2000.
In 1972 the Congregational church joined with the English Presbyterian church to become the United Reformed Church. The Halifax Road chapel was located
