It was founded in 1863. It was built by Lancaster architect G. E. Paley with the Rankin family paying the £4,000 cost of building the church. The foundation stone was laid on 27th July 1861 and consecrated in June of 1863. It was demolished in 1975 when dry rot was discovered and only the graveyard remains. A new church was built next to the school and is still in use.
This site provides historical information about churches, other places of worship and cemeteries. It has no connection with the churches etc. themselves. For current information you should contact them directly.
