On Thursday, the 23rd inst., at Ickworth, the lady Arthur Hervey, of a daughter.

Marriages

On Thursday last, at the Congregational chapel, Wymondham, by the Rev. James Rutherford, Mr. Robert Semmence, to Martha Ann Davey.

On Friday se'nnight, at Stradbrooke, by the Rev. Mr. Allen, Mr. Thomas Botwright, grocer and draper, of Bardwell, to Miss Marianne Norman, of the above place.

On Thursday se'nnight, Charles, eldest son of Mr. Robert Garnham, farmer, of Parkways, Gislingham, in this county, to Miss Hannah Broom, of Long Stratton, Norfolk.

Same day, Mr. R. Clark, of Southwold, to Miss Rackham, of Westhall.

Same day, at Oakford, Devon, by the Rev. James Parkin, Edward Press, Esq., of Hingham, to Maria, second daughter of the late Charles Chilcott, Esq.

On Monday se'nnight, Mr. Robert Halls, plumber, &c., of Wymondham, to Ann, second daughter of the late Mr. John Burrell, farmer, of Wicklewood.

On Tuesday se'nnight, Mr. John Moll, tailor, of this city, to Miss Sophia Hardingham, of Lakenham.

Lately, at Baconsthorpe, Mr. William Bidewell, farmer, Hunworth, to Ann, third daughter of Mr. King, farmer, Holt.

Deaths

At the residence of Dr. O'Brien, Wollongong, New South Wales, on the 9th of August, 1844, John Forster? Church, Esq., formerly of Great Yarmouth, aged 54, after a long and painful illness. We copy the following from the Sydney Gazette of August 14th:- "Capt. Church, after frequently visiting these colonies as the commander of a [merchant] vessel, was induced in 1831, to bring from England his amiable family and to settle at Sydney as a Colonist and Merchant, in which capacity, for his well-known integrity [and] punctuality, he was deservedly respected and esteemed; from the formation to the dissolution he was Surveyor to the 'Australian Marine' and the 'Union Assurance' Companies, and gave the most perfect satisfaction to both, as well as to the public; he will long be remembered and regretted by all who had the pleasure of his aquaintance: his remains are to be brought to Sydney for interment on Friday next, at the hour of nine in the morning." The deceased's father was run down off Goodwin Sands in the early part of 1796; his mother died in March, 1842, in the 86th year of her age; and the only surviving member of this family, fifteen in number, is Mr. E.F. Church, of Theatre Plain Seminary, Yarmouth.

On Wednesday last, at Clenchwarton, near Lynn, in the 36th year of her age, the beloved wife of the Rev. G.F. Hill.

Same day, aged 3 years, William, only son of Mr. W. Bales, St. Stephen's road.

Same day, in St. Swithin's, Mr. Benjamin Gilbert, plumber and glazier, in his 77th year. The deceased had been ill for about six years, and entirely confined to his bed seventeen weeks.

On Tuesday last, John Norman, bricklayer, aged 28 years.

On Monday last, at Wymondham, Mr. Jesse Blyth, aged 23 years. His end was peace.

On Sunday last, aged 65 years, J.K. Alderson, plumber and glazier, late of Orford hill, in this city.

Same day, Mary, the beloved wife of Mr. W. Record, Brickmaker's road, Lakenham, aged 52 years.

On Saturday last, suddenly, at Southwold, aged 44 years, Captain Ogle Lemon, of the 60th Foot.

Same day, at Wiveton cottage, near Holt, W. Buck, Esq.

On Friday last, after a severe affliction, Elizabeth, the beloved wife of Mr. William Bagster, bricklayer, Ber street, aged 37 years.

On Friday se'nnight, Mr. J.C. Robinson, plumber and glazier, Magdalen street, at an advanced age.

Same day, in her 87th year, Martha Davy, of Dedham.

Same day, suddenly, W. Buck, Esq., of Wiveton, in this county.

On Thursday se'nnight, in his 45th year, Mr. James Gidney, of the Cattle Market Inn, in this city.

Same day, aged 76 years, Margaret, mother of Mr. Edward Gaze, bookbinder, of Beccles.

Same day, at Halesworth, Maria, relict of the late Sir George Tuthill, M.D.

Same day, Mr. Damant, plumber and glazier, of Mildenhall, leaving a widow and five children.

Same day, aged 63 years, Sarah King, widow of Francis King, farmer, Lakenheath.

Same day, at Mildenhall, Mr. James Damant, aged 42 years, plumber and glazier.

On Sunday last, Mary Bond, wife of Robert Bond, for many years a highly respected schoolmaster.

On Monday se'nnight, at his house near St. Stephen's gates, Mr. William Jackson, after a very long affliction borne with Christian patience and resignation, aged 45 years.

On Wednesday se'nnight, in his 4th year, Frederick George, son of Mr. Frederick Gayford, of Thetford.

Same day, Mrs. Porter, of Cley, aged 74 years, who on the preceding evening, was in full health, and in attendance on religious worship.

Same day, in his 75th year, Mr. Harman Garrett, of Woodbridge.

Same day, aged 76 years, George Hart, of Wymondham, one of the Society of Friends.

On Thursday, the 16th inst., Margaret, the relict of John Gaze, shoemaker, Beccles, very suddenly, aged 76 years.

On Sunday, the 19th inst., in her 35th year, Jane, the wife of Mr. Samuel Lovett, carpenter, of Cossey.

On Saturday, the 18th inst., in her 61st year, Sarah Anne, widow of the late Jas. Sharpe, Esq., of Thornham, in this county.

Same day, at East Dereham, in her 79th year, Mrs. S.M. Bridgman, widow of the late Mr. J. Bridgman, of Lexham.

On Monday, the 13th inst., at Hawley, Stowmarket, Mary Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Augustus and the Hon. Lady Henniker.

On Thursday, the 9th inst., in her 103rd year, Mrs. Sarah Johnson, of Catfield, in this county.

On Sunday, the 5th inst., at Heald's Hall, near Leeds, aged 90 years, Mrs. Amy Roberson, sister of the late Rev. Hammond Roberson, Prebendary of York, &c. and a native of Cawston, in this county.

On Thursday, the 2nd inst., at Briston, Mr. William Hill, for half a century known as "the old bachelor," in his 78th year.

On Wednesday last, at the Gaywood Alms houses, Lynn, Mrs. Elizabeth Clarke, from cancer, about 64 years of age.

Same day, Ann Elizabeth Sadler, daughter of Mr. George G. Sadler, Tuesday market place, Lynn, in her 17th year.

On Tuesday last, the wife of Mr. Jno. Blott, grocer, High street, Lynn.

On Saturday last, Mary, the wife of Robert Webb, harness maker, Lynn, aged 47 years.

A few days since, at Woodbridge, Sarah, relict of Mr. Leonard Howard, formerly of the King's Arms Inn there.

Lately, much respected for his honest integrity, Mr. William Watts, bricklayer, Buxton, aged 91 years; and on the 24th inst., Frances, his wife, aged 79 years, who survived him only five weeks, their end was peace.
