An index of names from “Historical and other notes on Charlbury”, by John Kibble, 1927, of Finstock. Covers Charlbury (Cotswolds) and its nine hamlets. Kibble himself possessed many artefacts and original documents, and quotes personal and oral traditions too. It appears very well researched, and he seems to have been quite an antiquarian. The book was primarily for local consumption, printed by the Oxford Chronicle, paper-bound. Unlikely to be many copies in existence.
I have omitted most very early Saxon/Norman names, and most references to nobility. There are long lists of the field names of the different parishes.
On pp45/47 there is a long poem of 1876 giving many Charlbury names in rhyme. I have not tried to incorporate these names into the main list, but simply added them as an appendix.
