"EATON CONSTANTINE, a parish in the Wellington division of the hundred of South Bradford, county Salop, 5 miles N.W. of Much Wenlock, and 5 S.W. of Wellington, its post town and railway station on the Shrewsbury and Birmingham line. It is situated on the river Severn, which bounds it on the S.W. Coal is wrought to a small extent, and stone is quarried for building purposes. The living is a perpetual curacy* in the diocese of Lichfield, value £102, in the patronage of the Duke of Cleveland, who is lord of the manor. The church is a stone building, dedicated to St. Mary.
