"FITZ, a parish in the hundred of PIMHILL, county of SALOP, 5 miles (N.W. by N.) from Shrewsbury, containing 229 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Salop, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, rated in the king's books at £5. 5. 10., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Paul. The river Perry runs through the parish, which is bounded by the Severn."
