Before 1824, there were commonly reckoned fifteen hundreds, viz., Oswestry, Pimhill, Bradford North, Bradford South, and Brimstry, on the north-east side of the Severn; the liberty of Shrewsbury, the franchise of Wenlock, and the hundred of Stottesden; extending on both banks of the river: the hundreds of Ford, Chirbury, Condover, Munslow, Overs, Purslow, and the honour of Clun, on the south-west side of the Severn.

But Bradford North, and Bradford South, constitute but one hundred, and in the above division, the liberties of Bridgnorth, and the borough and liberties of Ludlow are not expressly included under any hundred.

The attribution of townships to parishes and hundreds given below defines Bradford as one hundred and includes explicitly the liberties of Bridgnorth, and the borough and liberties of Ludlow, making a total of 16, viz.
