"BADINGHAM, a parish in the hundred of Hoxne, in the county of Suffolk, 5 miles to the N. W. of Saxmundham, and 3 N.E. of Framlingham its post town. It is situated on the river Alde. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Norwich, of the value of £582, in the patronage of R. Gorton, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. There are some almshouses, and other charitable endowments amounting to £24 a year."
