EAST CLANDON

"EAST CLANDON, a parish in the second division of the hundred of Woking, and union of Guildford, in the county of Surrey, 8 miles from Dorking, and 4 E. of the Guildford station on the South-Western railway. It is situated near the Clandon Downs, and comprises a large tract of common.

The living is a rectory in the archdeaconry of Surrey, and diocese of Winchester, value £152, in the patronage of the Earl of Lovelace. In the vicinity is Hatchland Park, late the residence of Admiral Boscawen, who died here in 1761.
