READER IN THE PARISH OF ST MARY
AND NEIGHBOURHOOD
DURING THE LONG PERIOD OF 35 YEARS.

SON OF JOSEPH AND MARY ANN
MEEK,
WHO WAS ACCIDENTALLY DROWNED
IN THE CISTERN OF THE DAY SCHOOL
ADJOINING THIS CHURCH, APRIL 30, 1845,
AGED 8 YEARS.

This distressing event is recorded by the
Minister,
as an expression of sympathy with the
parents and caution to the children of the
School, a reproof to the proprietors of
open pits, wells, and landslips, the want
of fencing about
which is the frequent cause of similar
disaster in these districts, and as a
memento to all
of the uncertainty of life, and the
consequent necessity of immediate and
continued preparation for death.

for many years a respected inhabitant of this Town. Died 20 April

WILLIAM ROWLEY,
ONLY SON OF THE LATE WALTER ROWLEY,
OF STOKE PARK, SHROPSHIRE.
HE DIED 15TH DECEMBER 1841
AGED 70 YEARS.

DAUGHTER OF JOSEPH MOSS,
OF THIS PLACE.
SUDDENLY CALLED HENCE,
SHE CALMLY RESIGNED HER SPIRIT
INTO HER SAVIOUR'S HANDS,
24TH AUGUST 1832, AGED 56 YEARS.

"I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE, SAITH THE
LORD: HE THAT BELIEVETH IN ME, THOUGH HE WERE
