"KINGSTONE, (or Kingstone with Blythe Bridge) a parish in the S. division of the hundred of Totmonslow, county Stafford, 3½ miles S. of Uttoxeter, 10 N.E. of Stafford, and 2 S. of the Bramshall station on the North Staffordshire railway. It is a small village. The land is chiefly in pasture, and the soil a stiff marl.

The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Lichfield, value £68. The church is a small ancient structure with a low brick tower. The parochial charities produce about £3 8s. per annum. The Primitive Methodists have a place of worship. The late Earl of Shrewsbury and Talbot was lord of the manor.

"BLYTHE BRIDGE, a hamlet in the parish of Kingstone, hundred of Totmonslow, in the county of Stafford, 4 miles from Uttoxeter. It is situated on the river Blythe, a branch of the Trent."
