"ELMBRIDGE, a chapelry in the parish of Dodderhill, upper division of the hundred of Halfshire, county Worcester, 3 miles N. of Droitwich, its post town and railway station on the West Midland line, and 4 S.W. of Bromsgrove. It is situated on a small stream known as Hampton Brook. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Worcester, annexed to the vicarage of Dodderhill. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is an ancient stone structure, and has one brass. George Penrice, Esq., is lord of the manor. Elmbridge Green is the principal residence."
