"FLADBURY, a parish in the middle division of the hundred of Oswaldslow, county Worcester, 3 miles E. of Pershore, and 3½ N.W. of Evesham. It is a station on the Oxford and Worcester line of railway. The parish, which is delightfully situated in the Vale of Evesham, includes the hamlets of Abbots Lench, Hill, and Stock. The river Avon, which is navigable from the Severn, flows through the parish, affording facilities for the conveyance of coal and agricultural produce. The village is situated about a mile off the main road from Worcester to London. The men are chiefly engaged in agricultural pursuits, and the women in glove-making. Its Saxon name was Fleathanbyrig."
