"REDMARLEY-D'ABITOT, a parish in the lower division of Oswaldslow hundred, county Worcester, 5 miles N.E. of Newent, its post town, and 5 S.E. of Ledbury. The village is situated on the road from Gloucester to Ledbury, and is chiefly agricultural. In the front of the parish, which is hilly, the soil is light; but in the level portion it is clay. There are several quarries of red sandstone, chiefly used for repair of the roads. The tithes have been commuted for a rent-charge of £915, and the glebe comprises 63 acres."
