91. SPRING BANK. Ebenezer Primitive Methodist chapel built 1877-8 at a cost of £8,060 to designs of William Freeman. Of white brick with stone dressing with what a contemporary report called a 'Greco-Italian front capped with pyramids'. The distinctive Italianate facade incorporated French Renaissance detailing. Seating for 1000. Closed by August 1944. Demolished 1976. Site now yard for vehicle hire firm (Dennis Taylor). [The Lost Churches and Chapels of Hull]
