The Ancient Parish of EAST ARDSLEY
[Transcribed information mainly from the early 1820s]
"EAST ARDSLEY, a parish-town, in Agbrigg-division of Agbrigg and Morley, liberty of Pontefract; 3½ miles NW. of Wakefield 6 from Leeds, 11½ from Bradford, 28 from York. Pop. 832. The Church is a perpetual curacy, in the deanry of Pontefract. Patron, the Right Hon. Earl of Cardigan."
