"KILDALLAN, a parish in the barony of Tullyhunco, county Cavan, province of Ulster, Ireland, 2 miles N. of Killashandra. Ardloher is its post town. The parish is 5 miles long by 3 broad. It contains part of Lough Oughter, and is crossed by the road from Killeshandra to Ballyconnel. The, soil is generally indifferent. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Kilmore, value £485, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was built in 1816, partly by means of a loan from the late Board of First Fruits. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Tomregan. There are a Presbyterian meetinghouse, and several day schools. Carn Cottage is the principal residence."
