The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Aghacross contained the following places:

"AGHACROSS, (or Ahacross), a parish in the barony of Condons and Clongibbons, in the county of Cork, and province of Munster, Ireland, 5 miles to the W. of Mitchellstown. It is situated on the small river Funcheon, at the foot of the Galtep hills, and on the borders of Limerick county. The living is a rectory united with that of Clenore, in the diocese of Cork, Ross, and Cloyne. The land is principally pasture. Fairs for cattle are held on the 25th January and the 3rd October.
