The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Carrigdownane contained the following places:

"CARRIGDOWNANE, a parish in the barony of Fermoy, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 2 miles to the S. of Kildorrery. It is situated in a fertile district on the banks of the river Funcheon, a branch of the Blackwater. Limestone is found here in abundance. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cork, Cloyne, and Ross, value £90. The presentation is suspended."
